Growing up

So I have been noticing that there is a trend that grown people aren’t really that grown. It’s like that saying that it’s hard to grow up but we all have to do it. There are so many people who are young running around saying im grown (mind you im only 22 as well). What does it truly mean to be grown?

To be mature means to face, and not evade, every fresh crisis that comes.
Fritz Kunkel

Age is no guarantee of maturity.
Lawana Blackwell

When we were children, we used to think that when we were grown-up we would no longer be vulnerable. But to grow up is to accept vulnerability… To be alive is to be vulnerable.
Madeleine L’Engle

In my opinion being grown or grown up is not something that you should have to tell people or announce. So many young people my age want to be considered “grown” and walk around telling people that they are grown, or trying to prove to people they are grown. Well to be grown you don’t have to act or prove it, it’s just a daily routine.  To be grown is to act grown. Grown people handle their own business, grown people have maturity, grown people have wisdom, grown people take advice, grown people don’t act foolish, grown people know how to walk away, grown people know how to be rational and grown people know how to use their intelligence. Another thing I have noticed with people saying they are grown are older people who should be grown but aren’t. Age does not make you grown. I see many older people running around saying they are grown and yet act childish. So to those out there who are needing a reminder…GROW UP!
